This policy explains how LDS Recovery and Services handles personal information in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. If you have any questions, contact us using the details below.
1. Who we are
LDS Recovery and Services (“we”, “us”, “our”) is the controller of your personal information.
- Address: 195 Wood Street, London, E17 3NU
- Email: ldsservicesuk@gmail.com
- Phone: 07520 682994
2. Information we collect
We only collect the information we need to respond to you and to provide our services. This may include:
- Contact details — your name, phone number, email address and, for business customers, your company name and role.
- Vehicle details — make, model, registration and information about the vehicle’s condition or fault.
- Location information — the location of your vehicle, collection address and destination that you give us. We do not track the location of your device.
- Job records — dates, times, the services provided, notes and photographs of a vehicle’s condition taken at collection or delivery.
- Payment information — card payments are handled by our payment provider. We receive confirmation of payment and limited details such as the card type and last four digits, but we never see or store your full card number.
- Communications — records of calls, messages, emails and requests you send through our website.
- Website data — a cookie that remembers your cookie choices and, only if you consent, analytics information about how you use our website (see our Cookie Policy).
Most of this information comes directly from you. Occasionally we receive it from someone acting on your behalf — for example a garage, dealership, fleet manager, insurer or family member who books a recovery for your vehicle.
3. How we use your information and our lawful bases
| Purpose | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Responding to calls, enquiries and recovery requests, and giving you a price | Steps at your request before entering a contract; legitimate interests |
| Providing recovery, roadside assistance, transportation, collection and delivery services | Performance of a contract |
| Taking payment, issuing invoices and receipts | Performance of a contract; legal obligation |
| Keeping business and accounting records | Legal obligation |
| Contacting emergency services where someone may be at risk | Vital interests |
| Handling complaints, disputes and legal claims, and preventing fraud | Legitimate interests |
| Running and securing our website | Legitimate interests |
| Website analytics | Consent (you can withdraw it at any time) |
Where we rely on legitimate interests, these are running and improving our business and providing a safe, reliable service, balanced against your rights. We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling, and we will not send you marketing without your permission.
4. Who we share your information with
We never sell your personal information. We only share it where necessary with:
- Payment providers — such as Stripe, which processes card payments securely on our behalf.
- Service providers — for example website hosting, email, telephone and form-handling providers, who may only use your information to provide services to us.
- People you ask us to deal with — such as the garage, dealership, bodyshop or person at the destination address.
- Insurers, the police and emergency services — where needed to deal with an accident or incident, or where we are legally required to.
- Professional advisers and authorities — such as our accountants, legal advisers and HMRC.
5. International transfers
Some of our service providers (including our payment provider) may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement / Addendum approved under UK law.
6. How long we keep your information
- Enquiries that don’t lead to a job: up to 12 months.
- Job, invoice and payment records: 6 years from the end of the financial year they relate to, as required for tax and accounting purposes.
- Records relating to a complaint or claim: for as long as needed to resolve it, and up to 6 years afterwards.
- Cookie consent record: 6 months, after which we ask you again.
When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymise it.
7. Keeping your information secure
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections to our website, access controls and reputable service providers. Card payments are processed by a PCI DSS compliant payment provider. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work hard to protect your information.
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- have inaccurate information corrected;
- have your information erased in certain circumstances;
- restrict or object to how we use your information;
- receive your information in a portable format; and
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us by email at ldsservicesuk@gmail.com or call 07520 682994. There is normally no charge and we will respond within one month. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on your request.
9. Cookies
We use a strictly necessary cookie to remember your cookie choices. Optional analytics cookies are only used if you agree to them. See our Cookie Policy for details, or .
10. Children
Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Complaints
If you have a concern about how we handle your information, please contact us first so we can try to put things right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113.
